Mobile Suit Gundam The Movie: Char’s Counterattack is a tall method to slay a series that created the genre that taken like wildfire. This film’s also finally puts to an slay the battle between the side colonies and the Zeon Army. Finally, a feud that has been around since the beginning of the series: Amuro Ray and Char Anzable’s final conflict.
I have long since given up hope on the Gundam franchise due to SEED destroying everything that made it enchanting to me, but my worship for the One Year War narrative persuaded me to seize this fable movie up. And man, was I surprised!

There are no needlessly flashy Gundams, no color changes, no characters who you possess are girls for 3 episodes before you net out it’s a man! (purple haired guy from SEED) Nor are there any needlessly cheesy treasure stories that acquire in the plan of the War’s tale.
This is the ruin of the current series, staunch tactics are dilapidated, the mobile suits perceive wonderful, and the animation is elegant for being an 80’s film. Unlike so many Gundam things out now, you wont score any overpowered god-like Gundams, or BS excuses for tactics, but quite the opposite! This movie saved Gundam for me. 5/5 for one Hell of a conclusion to one of Anime’s greatest stories!

The episodes possess male pudgy frontal nudity, sexual situations, violence and primitive themes. The acting is wonderful. The situations,the dialogue and the sets are realistic. This drama is gritty. A plus to the cast is Academy Award Winner Rita Moreno. If these episodes in the Season One collection don’t derive your heart startled. It’s only the beginning. Find fervent in the storyline. See every episode in reliable order. And after you are finished with all eight episodes of Season One. Lift Season Two and rep ready for a more extinct hard-hitting season. And remember, ADULTS ONLY!
From Homicide: Life on the Street creator Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson, Oz is one of the most compulsively violent and addicting shows to hit HBO. While the Sopranos garnered most of the attention from HBO viewers, the primal nature and sheer unpredictability of Oz made the series the definition of must perceive TV. Taking situation in the Oswald Correctional Facility (known to the inmates as Oz) these eight episodes revolve around Emerald City: a cellblock overseen by prison reform advocate Tim McManus (Terry Kinney) and the warden Leo Glynn (Ernie Hudson) who is desperately trying to withhold the peace among the inmates as the governor bans privlages including smoking and conjugal visits. We are introduced to a cast of compelling characters whom be both pity and abhor, including meek lawyer Tobias Beecher (Lee Tergesen) whose transformation from troubled current convict to drug raddled madman must be seen to be believed, white supremicist leader Vern Schillinger (J.K. Simmons), backstabbing and double dealing Ryan O’Reilly (Dean Winters), the cocky and self loathing Miguel Alvarez (Kirk Acevedo), wheelchair high-tail narrator Augustus Hill (Harold Perrineau), and Muslim activist Kareem Said (Eamonn Walker) whose low policy of non-violence explodes in the season ending riot that sets the stage for season two. The rest of the cast, including Rita Moreno, the Sopranos’ Edie Falco, and John Seda (even though he only appears in the first episode) does vivid work, all of whom relieve acquire Oz unforgettable. If you’ve never seen Oz, you should definitely check it out and glance for yourself one of the best and underrated shows on HBO and maybe even TV history, but do be warned, this series is not for the squeamish.

MGM does a broad job in restoring this 1952 comedy classic to DVD perfection!!! Presented in Black/White, Standard Veil size (4:3 tv aspect ratio – before WideScreen (1953) ) .
This was Spencer Tracy’s & Katherine Hepburn’s 7th film together and as always are Classic Team mates!!! Now digitally remastered and on DVD makes it even better. Flawlessly digitalized makes the narrate quality absolutely improbable to gaze. Hepburns athletism can be more appreciated especially during the golf scenes when she drives the balls into the far distance (only now can we gaze these dinky spheres in the distance with DVD clarity!) .
Summary; Masterfully directed by George Cukor, Athletic Pat (Hepburn) plays a very skillful amateur female sports nut who seems trapped in a rich socialite engaged to be married life. Mike (Tracy) a sports promoter eyes Hepburn in a Pro-Amatuer Golf match & sees a gold mine to be had. Hustling her to turn pro & be his client Hepburn decides this is a design to run her melancholy dominating fiances & to be married life. Hepburn shows hows some fabulous athletic talents in golf & tennis. Tracy & Hepburn are a stout pair to gaze & Hollywoods 1950’s cheerful ending prevails. This is a keeper and the DVD is a beauty!

PAT & MIKE is the seventh Tracy-Hepburn collaboration, and it stars Spencer Tracy as Mike Conovan, the moneyminded sports racketeer with a heart of gold, and Katharine Hepburn (looking a large deal younger than she did in 1951’s THE AFRICAN QUEEN) as his heavenly ‘property’, Pat Pemberton. Pat is an all-round ‘lady athlete’, adept at golf and tennis (not to mention shooting, basketball and presumably swimming), but completely frazzled whenever her fiance Collier Weld (a suitably smarmy William Ching) is around and watching her. In a train to become more in control of herself and her life, she (contrarily) submits to Mike’s management and he takes her around the country as a golf and tennis pro. It doesn’t recall distinguished imagination to realise what happens next–Mike’s ‘handling’ of Pat is the kind of handling she’s willing to secure (switch ‘Tracy’ for ‘Mike’ and ‘Hepburn’ for ‘Pat’ and you fetch also a description of Tracy and Hepburn’s real-life relationship), and before long, Collier is elegant powerful left in the dust.
This film is evidently a star vehicle for Tracy and Hepburn, containing next to no artistic pretensions or even any accurate attempt to press a subtle feminist point (in difference with other Tracy/Hepburn films like WOMAN OF THE YEAR or ADAM’S RIB) . In fact, the film seems to be objective a comfortable, familiar joke between actors, writers and audience–we know these characters, we know these actors, we know what kind of relationship they always have (bantering, sparring, and in the kill impartial a perfect fit) … the only thing that’s different is the names of the characters. Sam, Adam, Mike–Tess, Amanda, Pat–what’s the dissimilarity?

To be splendid, Hepburn’s character of Pat Pemberton is distinguished softer and more vulnerable than either Tess Harding or Amanda Bonner. This character variation doesn’t veil the actual point of the screenplay though–Ruth Gordon and Garson Kanin evidently wanted a chance to indicate both Hepburn’s natural athletic abilities (phenomenal for a non-professional, but possibly not 100% believable against sports stars like Babe Zaharias) and her wonderful legs. Well, they did succeed at both of these things, to mammoth accomplish. It’s vast fun for a Hepburn fan, having read about her deep and abiding adore of any and all sports, to net a chance to actually stare her playing golf and tennis onscreen. (This doesn’t mean, of course, that the frequent and long golf scenes don’t test one’s patience occasionally!)
Spencer Tracy has colossal fun as Mike as well, the sports agent who originally wants Pat to flub a game and reach in second. He claims early on in the film that the peril with her is that she’s got too unprejudiced a face–it’s only Tracy’s ability to originate rough-and-tumble characters believably vulnerable at heart that makes his later declaration (“I must have caught something from you” i.e. honesty) acceptable. The chemistry between the two is probably closer to the comfortable rapport they shared in ADAM’S RIB as man and wife than the fireworks that went off between them in WOMAN OF THE YEAR. Whatever the case, it is smooth always a joy to see Tracy and Hepburn together onscreen, and it’s largely because this film stars who it does that you can allow yourself to be pleased and be taken in by what is evidently a cutesy star vehicle written by the stars’ friends (Gordon and Kanin), and directed by the leading lady’s best and favourite director George Cukor. (Some of the visual tricks, particularly Hepburn’s face appearing on that of a horse, are actually more disturbing than flattering, and I–for one–would catch not to pursue the metaphor through to its demolish.) Tracy and Hepburn are also boosted by an proper supporting cast, particularly William Ching as Pat’s foul suitor and Aldo Ray as Mike’s dimwitted star protege (until Pat comes along, that is!) .
PAT & MIKE is a romantic comedy, but it’s also romantic-comedy-*lite*. There are no forced or spurious separations that are geared towards wringing tears from viewers before a reconciliation (incompatibility again with ADAM’S RIB and most formulaic films in unique years) . The film is unprejudiced a puny fragment of tickled fluff–not taxing at all for either the writers, the actors, or the viewers. For a smart droll set-piece, leer out for the scene in which Pat takes on the two seedy sports racketeers and dispenses them with mighty ease and efficiency. Otherwise, gawk PAT & MIKE with the knowledge that this is neither Tracy and Hepburn’s best, nor is it their worst. If you retain your expectations down, you’ll certainly luxuriate in watching this film because it aims coarse (aiming only to please and amuse, and not necessarily to rob and thrill), and fulfils those aims very well. 8/10.
